Gray days, mini-freakouts, and more

So Halloween has come and gone. Quick synopsis of that weekend:

10/29 Went to my roommate’s friends party in SOMA as a potential Supreme Court Justice. Expected more from my liver than it could deliver.

10/30 Recovered from previous evening. Nature mocked me as it delivered a perfect San Francisco day. I cursed it.

10/31 I forgave Nature because it delivered another perfect San Francisco day. Yay outside! Rented a bike and rode out to the beach with my roommate. We checked out camera obscura and watched the sunset. Later that night, 4/5 of the 1515 Haight posse went to the Castro. New pictures on Flickr.

Last week, I was offered a job. This week I accepted the job. This troubles me on several levels.

  1. I am returning to the 9-5 office gig that I never really wanted for myself.
  2. I am working for an agency that doesn’t have the “shit, you work there?!” prestige
  3. I am 26. I eat too much ice cream. I don’t have a bike.
  4. Having a job makes me feel tied down. I won’t have the freedom to do what I want, when I want. I have relinquished a part myself to someone else.

So that’s the update. Any thoughts on growing up are appreciated.

Whoever, this peter royal dude is, I kinda agree with him. Rather, a tie-down is a way to make a nice nest egg before you move to do that ultimate takeover of the world, er... I mean nothin'.

I feel for you though; weekends aren't enought time to get living done in. It could be worse. It could be 9-6.

if you're disappointed about giving up a part of yourself to someone else, i'd be more than happy to give you a piece of myself...all night long...
